A.K. Antony, the current Defence Minister of India, has often been described as the ‘Mr. Clean’ of Indian Politics. He is the former Chief Minister of Kerala, and won popular support in 1996 for his decision to impose a ban on arrack. As a student, he gained public attention as a prominent, leading activist of the Kerala Student’s Union.
